CHS golfers compete in pair of meets

The Carlinville Cavaliers boys golf team competed against North Mac Thursday afternoon, losing to the Panthers in a dual match, 168-199.

North Mac improved to 8-7-1 while Carlinville is 0-10.

The Cavies were led by Colton Winters with a 48; Tom Sanson had a 49; Payton Jamieson 50; Lucas Mefford 52; Jay Rosentreter 54; and Eric Ware 60.

The medalist was Tanner Barns of North Mac, who shot a four-over-par 36. Jusitn West added a 40; MiKayla Blankenship 45; Hunter Smith 47; Tyler Miller 50 and Dane Van Buskirk 52.

The girls team competed Monday at Timber Lakes in Staunton against Staunton, Hillsboro and Raymond Lincolnwood.

Lincolnwood improved to 19-1 by winning the quadrangular with a team score of 192. Hillsboro (17-4) finished second at 197, Staunton 209 and Carlinville 215.

The Cavies girls team is 3-9 on the season.

Ali Hurley shot a 46 to lead the Cavaliers. Baylee Hughes added a 52; Sydney Cania 56; Macy Walker 61; Cara Emery 78; and Ann Traylor 79.

The medalist was Hillsboro’s Lindsay Storm with a 39. Staunton was led by Hannah Luketich with a 50 and Johanna Wyatt at 52.
