HEADLINE: Woman injured after falling from motorcycle

A 59-year-old Waverly woman was injured June 11 after falling off a motorcycle near Medora.

The Macoupin County Sheriff’s Office received a 911 call at about 2:03 p.m., Sunday, June 11, in reference to a motorcycle accident south of Medora on Illinois Route 111, just south of FS Road.

Upon the deputies’ arrival, they discovered Connie Hendrick had fallen off the back of a motorcycle driven by Roger Brown, 57, of Decatur. Brown said he was traveling north on Route 111 when he began to feel the motorcycle lean to the right; he looked back and saw Hendrick fall off the back of the motorcycle. Hendrick told a deputy she had just eaten and was starting to feel overheated; she believed she passed out and that is when she fell off.

Hendrick, who was not wearing a helmet, was taken by ARCH helicopter to St. Louis University Hospital. Brown was issued a citation for driving while license revoked.
