Farmer’s Insurance Game Changer Award
Seth Egelhoff received the Farmer’s Insurance/Jacob Hainsfurther Game Changer Award this week.
Egelhoff, a 5-foot-9, 150-pound senior out-hustled two Greenville players to the ball while recovering an onside kick late in the first quarter. Carlinville had just scored to take a 14-0 lead and his recovery helped set up the Cavies’ third score to make it 21-0 early in the second quarter.
“It was a big special teams play and it came at the right point in the game,” Easterday said of Egelhoff’s onside kick recovery. “They executed it perfectly. Hayden Thompson did a great job and Seth got down there and recovered it. It gave us momentum as it went from 14 to nothing to 21 to nothing. It was a great turning point in the game.”
