Two Carlinville men enlist in National Guard

Christopher Mock enlisted with the Illinois Army National Guard as a Chaplain Assistant and will be leaving for training in August to Fort Jackson, S.C.  PV2 Mock is a senior at Carlinville High School and resides in Carlinville with his parents, Monty and Samantha, and brothers Alex and Samuel. Upon completion of his training, PV2 Mock will be eligible for 100 percent college tuition and more than $500 for expenses.

Also enlisting in the Illinois Army National Guard is Herman Cole. SPC Cole will be entering the Officer Candidate School program. Cole is a prior service Marine who recently graduated from SIU Carbondale with a bachelors degree.

Herman currently resides in Carlinville and will be leaving for the federally accelerated OCS in June.
