Thoughts concerning weapons

Dear editor,

CARLINVILLE (March 15, 2018) – I’m writing your paper again to express some thoughts I’m having concerning weapons and the heartache and sadness they have caused. All the young people that are being shot by lunatics with guns — these young folks getting an education could have been an asset to society. No matter the laws, we will never keep the guns out of the hands of the no-gooders. A majority of the people I know who are gun owners respect their weapons and use them to hunt with and keep them under locks until hunting season begins. An empty gun doesn’t kill; only after it is loaded it becomes a weapon. Maybe if restrictions were put on purchasing the ammunition for the weapon, that would help. An empty gun is of no use until loaded, just as a padlocked door only keeps out the good guy.

Sincerely,

Rosie Kukowski,

Carlinville
