This June, the Summer Repertory Theatre at Blackburn College will be performing comical murder mystery “I Don’t Have a Clue,” at Bothwell Auditorium, by Craig Sodaro. The play is directed by Kat Yeager, which she describes as having a wide enough range of comedy for all ages to enjoy, as well improvisational elements.

Yeager has been directing for four years and co-directing for six. She described the play as being one of her larger-scale performances, but is confident about the progress they have made in the month of rehearsals they have had so far.

“I Don’t Have a Clue” will be one of two performances this summer, which will be the 25th anniversary of the Summer Repertory Theatre. The program began with two Blackburn professors who realized that the auditorium was sitting empty during the summer. The two decided to utilize the space.

“But this is strictly community theatre,” said Diane Hardy, President of the Summer Repertory Theatre. “The students who stay over the summer are more than welcome to audition, but this is community theatre.”

The talent in the cast is from all over Macoupin and beyond, including one actress from Festus, MO. Yeager herself is from Staunton.

Performances for “I Don’t Have a Clue will take place on June 13-15 at 7:30 p.m. and June 16 at 2 p.m. at Bothwell Auditorium. Tickets are $12 for adults and $6 for children 12 and under, and are available for purchase at Carlinville Public Library and CNB Bank & Trust. The house will open 30 minutes before the show begins.
