Summer concert series starts June 6

Coal Country Chamber of Commerce’s 13th annual summer concert series will bring free concerts to Benld City Park every Tuesday evening in June and July.
Concerts begin at 7 p.m. and last 90 minutes. The park opens at 6 p.m., and the concession stand will be open, serving hot dogs, “big smokies”, Italian beef, soda, water and strawberry shortcake sundaes.
Attendees are encouraged to bring their own lawn chairs and to dance. As the concerts are held under the pavilion, they will go on rain or shine.
This year’s lineup is as follows: June 6 — Scrap Iron and Gold (variety of blue grass, gospel and Irish); June 13 — Rockabilly Revival (jazz, blues, classic rock and country); June 20 — The SteamRollers (blues, country and folk); June 27 — Dixie Dudes and Dance Band (40s and 50s Dixieland style); July 11 —The Fundamentals (pop, rock, oldies, Motown, classics); July 18 — B&B Strings (acoustic trio performing classic rock and country); July 25 — Steve Davis (Memories of Elvis). There will be no concert on July 4.
