Samantha Unterbrink of Carlinville has been accepted for admission to Luther College in Deborah, Iowa, for the 2019-20 academic year and has been awarded the Achievement Award.

Caleb Moore of Mt. Olive enrolled in Knox College, Galesburg, for the fall 2018 term. He is a graduate of Mt. Olive High School.

Payton Spann of Virden, Emily Buckley-Prior of Bunker Hill and Rebecca Raymer of Staunton have been admitted to Culver-Stockton College in Canton, Mo., for the fall 2019 incoming class. Buckley-Prior was also awarded the Hilltop academic scholarship.

Aydriel Garrison of Carlinville will be part of the McKendree University Theatre and Music Department’s production of Legally Blonde: The Musical, Nov. 9-11 at the Hettenhausen Center for the Arts on the McKendree campus in Lebanon. Garrison plays the parts of Dewey and Lowell on the Admissions Committee.

Friday and Saturday performances begin at 7:30 p.m., and Sunday’s matinee starts at 2:30 p.m. Admission is free, but reservations are required; call the box office between 12-4 p.m. at (618) 537-6863 to reserve seats. The Hett opens 30 minutes early for general admission seating.

Mitchell R. Bremer of Carlinville graduated from Western Illinois University with a bachelor of science degree in agricultural science following the summer 2018 semester.

The following local students were honored Oct. 4 at Lewis and Clark Community College’s Scholars and Recognition Dinner for receiving 2018-19 scholarships from the LCCC Foundation.

Benld: Maya Marcacci, Golden Eagle Scholars Award.

Brighton: Hannah Kahl, Golden Eagle Scholars Award; Caleb Robinson, The Scott Credit Union Scholarship; Hannah Shaw, Distinguished Scholars Award; Courtney Stahling, Golden Eagle Scholars Award; and Diana E. Watson, Distinguished Scholars Award.

Bunker Hill: Tadaryll Berry, Alton Godfrey Lion’s Club Scholarship.

Carlinville: Konnor Emmons, TheBANK of Edwardsville Scholarship.

Gillespie: Liberty Hartley, John F. Schmidt Jr. Memorial Scholarship; and Ashlyn Hlafka, Linda L. Orr Occupational Therapy Assistant Scholarship.

Piasa: Madelynn K. Clevenger, Distinguished Scholars Award.

Shipman: Drew Runde, Distinguished Scholars Award.
