SCC volleyball season wraps up, final records now

The 2018 South Central all-conference teams and final team rankings have officially been put into the history books.

Adriann Welte (Carlinville), Ally Cantrill (Greenville), Nia Ephron (Greenville), Kaylee Holland (Pana), Ashleigh Painter (Staunton) and Shania Schoonover (Pana) were selected as members of the all-conference first team.

Receiving all-conference second team honors were Sarah DeNeve (Carlinville), Maddie Ashcraft (Pana), Sarah Isenberg (Staunton), J’Amy Jackson (Vandalia), Taylor Jackson (Roxana) and Kaci Papin (Hillsboro).

Third team members Jordyn Houseman (Carlinville), Allie Haberer (Greenville), Macie Lucas (Roxana), Brianna Roloff (Southwestern), Grace Sims (Pana) and Kayli Ward (Hillsboro) rounded out the 2018 all-conference roster.

Pana (9-0 conference record, 30-9 overall) was crowned the conference champion. Staunton (30-7-1, 8-1) made a strong bid for the title but finished in the runner-up position. Pana’s head-to-head 26-24, 27-25 victory over Staunton back on Sep. 6 ended up being the difference-maker. Greenville (23-9, 7-2), Roxana (26-8, 5-4), Carlinville (19-13, 5-4), Vandalia (18-13, 4-5), Hillsboro (18-13, 3-6), Southwestern (17-12-2, 3-6), Litchfield (7-20, 1-8) and Gillespie (0-28, 0-9) rounded out the rest of the conference standings.
