Rita F. Bono, 92
MT. OLIVE (Nov. 30, 2017) – Rita F. Bono Rita Frances Bono, 92, of Mt. Olive passed away at 9:25 p.m., Tuesday, Nov. 28, 2017, at Heritage Health in Staunton. She was born Feb. 5, 1925, in Equality, a daughter of the late Anton and Mary (Wargo) Muenstermann. She married Bert Charles Bono on June 24, 1944, at St. Michael’s Church in Staunton; he preceded her in death on July 30, 1989. Mrs. Bono attended school in Equality, worked with her husband on the family farm, owned and drove school buses, and was a member of St. John Paul II Catholic Church in Mt. Olive. She was an avid bingo player. Surviving are a daughter, Marilyn (Don) Brunnwroth of Staunton; a daughter-in-law, Marsha (Butch) Fones of Mt. Olive; five grandchildren, David (Melissa) Brunnworth of Staunton, Greg (Jamie) Brunnworth of Staunton, Jennifer (Brian) Petty, Tim (Kate) Bono and Mike (Kara) Bono, all of Mt. Olive; and 11 great-grandchildren, Dalton Brunnworth, Carter Brunnworth, Avery Brunnworth, Emma Brunnworth, Molly Petty, Charlie Bono, Marrissa Bono, Jenny Bono, Beverly Bono, Killian Vann and Emilie Vann. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Charles Bono; a grandson, Nicholas Petty; five brothers, Val Muenstermann, Edward Muenstermann, Gilbert Muenstermann, Charles Muenstermann and Cletus Muenstermann; and four sisters, Betty Bruce, Philomena Ward, Rosalie Gunn and Joan Armstrong. Friends may call from 10 a.m. until Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m., Friday, Dec. 1, at St. John Paul II Catholic Church in Mt. Olive, with Father Thomas Hagstrom officiating. Burial will be in St. Michael’s Cemetery, Staunton. The Altar and Rosary Society will serve lunch for family and friends at the St. John Paul II Hall following the burial.
