Retail real estate summit offered Oct. 17
CARLINVILLE (Oct. 12, 2017) – The International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC) will host “Rural on the Rise: Retail Real Estate Summit” from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., Tuesday, Oct. 17, at Olin Lecture Hall on the Blackburn College campus in Carlinville.
The summit will focus on retail real estate in secondary and rural Midwestern communities, including best practices for recruitment, retention and redevelopment, as well as tips for setting communities apart. It will include a variety of sessions, as well as a luncheon. Speakers will include Cynthia Stewart, ICSC vice president of community development; Blackburn College President Dr. John Comerford; Mayor Deanna Demuzio; Lacy Beasley, president of Retail Strategies; Jason Plummer, vice president of RP Lumber; Dwight D. Reynolds, area director of USDA Rural Development; Scott Stinson of Central Realty LLC; Gaylan Hamilton, director of retail real estate for Shoe Sensation, Inc.; Anna Jakubek, director of franchise development for Cobblestone Hotels; and Robin Hannah, project manager for Illinois Institute for Rural Affairs.
