Raymond Allen Lowrance

Raymond Allen Lowrance, 72, of Carlinville, passed away Wednesday morning,  Nov. 28, 2012, at his residence. He was born June 5, 1940, in Dyer, Tenn. to W.G. and Gladys V. Magee Lowrance. He married Barbara Jean Malone Dec. 4, 1965,  in Zion.

Preceding him in death were his parents; two brothers, Daniel Lowrance and Jack Lowrance; and two sisters, Geneva Long and Martha Wise.

Raymond was a retired millwright and a member of multiple trade unions. He loved the outdoors, fishing, hunting and spent a lot of time on his mower.

Surviving are his wife, Barbara; one daughter, Raelene (Rae) Punzel of Kenosha, Wisc.; one son, Dale Lowrance of Carlinville; five grandchildren, Shadoe Punzel of Austin, Texas, Dakota Punzel of Troy, Ala., Colton Punzel of Hoover, Ala.,  Carter Lowrance and Madeline “Maddie” Lowrance, both of Carlinville;  two brothers, Charles (Sharon) Lowrance of Wadsworth and Nicholas (Anne) Ashley of Zion; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Visitation was Saturday, Dec. 1, 2012, from noon-2 p.m., at Heinz Funeral Home in Carlinville.

A memorial service was held Saturday, Dec. 1, 2012 at 2 p.m., also at Heinz Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, donations to a favorite charity is requested by the family.
