Ray J. Tiburzi, 101, of Staunton, died at Cedarhurst of Bethalto Saturday, Aug. 31, 2019 at 10:38 a.m.
He was born February 15, 1918, in Sawyerville to Loretto Tiburzi and Carola (Ricci) Tiburzi. He married Lucille (Baggio) Tiburzi on August 27, 1940 in Staunton.
He was an auto salesman for General Motors of Gillespie. Ray was a former member of the Knights of Columbus, Horseless Carriage Club, St. Michael’s Catholic Church and Meals on Wheels for 35 years. He is survived by his spouse, Lucille Tiburzi of Staunton; children, Diana Tessereau of Chesterfield, Mo. and Joyce (Don) Huber of Travelers Rest, South Carolina, Richard (Liz) Tiburzi of Barnhart, Mo., Jim (Vicki) Tiburzi of Glendale, Mo., Bob Tiburzi of Naalehu, Hawaii; 15 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild.
Ray was preceded in death by his parents, children, Marilyn Tiburzi, Mark Tiburzi, brothers, Frank Tiburzi, Mac Tiburzi and Virgil Tiburzi. His remains will be given to St. Louis University.
Friends may call Saturday, Sept. 28, 2019 from 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at St. Michael’s Church, Staunton. Memorial mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 28, 2019 at St. Michael’s Church, Staunton.
