North Mac rejects school board proposition

November 4, 2014 – Members of the seven subdistricts of the North Mac school district voted against a measure that would have allowed the district’s school board members to be elected at large instead of by sub-district.

The breakdown by sub-district was as follows:

– Sub-district 1: 171 (46.98 percent) for and 193 (53.02 percent) against;

– Sub-district 2: 180 (43.06 percent) for and 238 (56.94 percent) against;

– Sub-district 3: 118 (42.91 percent) for and 157 (57.09 percent) against;

– Sub-district 4: 4 (100 percent) for and 0 (0 percent) against in Sangamon County and 166 (41.71 percent) for and 232 (58.29 percent) against in Macoupin County;

– Sub-district 5: 148 (36.36 percent) for and 259 (63.64 percent) against;

– Sub-district 6: 93 (31.85 percent) for and 199 (68.15 percent) against; and

– Sub-district 7: 179 (35.1 percent) for and 331 (64.9 percent) against.
