National accreditation for Children’s Garden Learning Center

3 9 17

Children’s Garden Learning Center was recently awarded national accreditation from the National Accreditation Commission for Early Care and Education Programs.

As an accredited center, CGLC has been recognized for providing a high quality program for children, professional development opportunities for staff and an environment for children that is conducive to their individual growth and development that exceeds state licensing requirements.

The accreditation process included a self-study process in which administrators, staff and parents evaluated the program in accordance with accreditation standards. After that process was complete, an early childhood professional completed an on-site observation. CGLC was awarded accreditation based on the information collected.

The center, owned by Lindy and Lloyd Healy, has been serving Carlinville for nearly 15 years. Currently, Director Stephanie Emery, Business Manager Kristy Park, 22 regular staff members and 12 substitutes care for up to 145 children ranging in age from six weeks to 12 years.
