Dear Editor:

The students, staff and board members of the Macoupin Center for the Developmentally Disabled would like to thank everyone who helped make our “Dinner to Die For” murder mystery fundraiser on Jan. 20 a huge success. MCDD would like to thank everyone who purchased tickets and attended the fun-filled evening to support our center. In addition, we would like to thank Shawn Kahl, Tim Rhodus, Rosalind Bloome, Mary Ann Pettit, Travis Acord, Carl Starr, Dan O’Brien, Mark Kanallakan, Jodi Bennett, Patty McDaniel and Roy Kulenkamp for participating in the event as one of our celebrity suspects. They all did a wonderful job especially with the limited information they received before that evening. Additionally, we would like to thank THEYimprov, the Carlinville Elks Lodge and kitchen crew for the use of their lodge and delicious meal, as well as Plainview Winery who participated in the wine tasting and Cindy and Jeff Dryer for donating the fruit and cheese trays. We would also like to thank all of the MCDD families who donated items for our tailgate raffle. We would also like to extend our congratulations to the winner of the tailgate raffle, Maddie Boente!

During that same weekend, MCDD hosted the Chris Cakes pancake fundraiser at the Carlinville Moose Lodge. We would like to thank the Moose Lodge for the use of their facility along with the Chris Cakes flipper who made the morning fun for all. Thank you to Jeff Link, MCDD board vice president, for all of your work for this event, as well as to all of the other board members who sold tickets or volunteered to work the event. We would also like to thank everyone who attended the pancake fundraiser!

Everyone’s generosity and contributions for these evens helped us raise over $3,000! Thank you once again for your kindness, time and effort that everyone put into making the events such a huge success.

Sincerely,

Kimberly Rogers, MCDD assistant director
