Letter to the editor

CARLINVILLE (Jan. 18, 2018) – The Good Samaritan Ministries Board of Directors and I, Dale Kasten, chairman of the Salvation Army Tree of Lights fundraising campaign, wish to thank all the many people who rang bells or individually contributed monetarily and the many, many businesses and organizations who contributed generously to this fine endeavor.

As our Good Samaritan Salvation Army fundraising chairman, I am pleased to announce that $39,070 was received this year, which was more than any previous year.

All local churches helped provide bell-ringers. Also helping were high school students, including Cavalettes, cheerleaders, FFA and other school organizations; 4-H clubs; and other groups. Due to their involvement and the area’s generosity, more people will be helped.

The 16 Good Samaritan Board of Directors and I would like to thank each of you for all your help in this community mission and feel very proud to live in this fine community.
