Lake committee recommends terminating Macke
Following an executive session regarding personnel matters, Carlinville City Council’s Lake Committee voted unanimously Thursday, Oct. 16, to recommend the termination of lake manager Morris Macke.
After the vote, Alderman Doug Downey said the recommendation will be made to Mayor Deanna Demuzio at the next city council meeting. “She makes the final decision,” said Downey, noting that if she accepts that recommendation, Macke will no longer be employed by the city or the lake. For the remaining two weeks of the camping season, the part-time lake employee would take over Macke’s responsibilities as much as he can, and Downey would post a notice with whom to contact regarding concerns or complaints.
