Jolene R. Huddleston, 62
MT. OLIVE (Oct. 5, 2017) – Jolene Rae (Sheller) Huddleston, 62, of Mt. Olive passed away at 4:41 p.m., Tuesday, Sept. 26, 2017, at her residence.
She was born Oct. 5, 1954, in Litchfield, the daughter of the late Louis Edward “Bud” Jr. and Mary Ann “Toots” (Karlovic) Scheller. She married Donald L. Huddleston on Oct. 5, 2007, in Edwardsville; he preceded her in death on Feb. 4, 2015.
Mrs. Huddleston attended Holy Trinity Grade School and graduated from Mt. Olive High School in 1972. She was employed by the state of Illinois for DCFS/Edwardsville until her retirement. She was a member of St. John Paul II, formerly Church of the Ascension, where she was baptized, received her first communion and was confirmed. She enjoyed the outdoors, camping, playing bingo, music, her dogs and being social with her many friends.
Surviving are an aunt, Faye Smith of Mt. Olive; two uncles, Jerome Scheller and Joe (Martha) Karlovic of Mt. Olive; a step-son, Donald (Rachel) Huddleston of Freeburg; step-grandchildren, Grace Huddleston and Emma Huddleston; a brother-in-law, Tommy (Cheryl) Huddleston of Arkansas; two sisters-in-law, Sharon Overstreet and Karen Brady, both of Gillespie; and several cousins, nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a brother-in-law, Steve Huddleston.
Visitation was held from 5 p.m. until services at 7 p.m., Tuesday, Oct. 3, at Becker and Son Funeral Home in Mt. Olive, with Father Thomas Hagstrom officiating. Burial was Wednesday, Oct. 4, at Chapman Cemetery in Mt. Olive.
