Good Samaritan Ministries to host fundraiser dinner

Good Samaritan Ministries, which sponsors the local food pantry, will host a pork chop and chicken dinner in cooperation with the Carlinville Elks Lodge, from 5-7 p.m.., Friday, May 19, at the Elks lodge.
The ministries will use funds raised to help residents with food needs. Each month, the food pantry serves 200-250 families. The food pantry is supported by donations from individuals and organizations in the area. All funds raised stay in the local community to help residents in the Carlinville School District.
The Good Samaritan Food Pantry is located in the Carlinville Plaza. It is open Tuesday and Thursday mornings from 9-11 a.m.., and on Wednesday afternoons from 2-4 p.m. Food is provided free on a monthly basis. The food pantry is managed by volunteers from the Carlinville area.
