George M. Boggs

George M. Boggs, 58, of Roxana passed away Tuesday, Feb. 26, 2019, in St. Louis County, Mo.

He was born April 11, 1960, in Springfield to John and Mable (Smith) Boggs. He married Cindy Goth; she survives.

Mr. Boggs was a police officer with 30 years of police training. He was assistant chief of police in Divernon, chief of police in Bunker Hill and worked for 20 years with the St. Louis City Police; he was a field training officer and a member of the Police Officers Union. He collected guns and GI Joes, made jewelry, and had an interest in history, especially World War II.

In addition to his wife, surviving are a daughter, Leslie (Christopher) Hayden of Mascoutah; a grandchild, Lyla Hayden; and cousins, Pat, Mike, Catherine, Diane and Paige.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Jean Marie Boggs.

Friends may call Friday, March 8, from 9:30-11 a.m. at Kravanya Funeral Home in Bunker Hill.
