MT. OLIVE (Oct. 5, 2017) – Dupo entered the Prairie State Conference this season for football, and are still seeking that elusive first win after a 59-6 setback last Friday to South Mac at Mt. Olive High School.

The Chargers improved to 4-2, 3-0 in the conference with the win. They head to Nokomis for a tough matchup with the 3-3 Redskins on Friday.

Johnny Darrah scored three touchdowns, including a 67-yarder, rushing for 248 yards on just 10 carries Friday night. Damin Jones added 129 yards on seven carries and two touchdowns.

Vandalia 76, Staunton 29

At Vandalia, Staunton fought hard in the first half, tied 15-15 after a quarter, but the Vandals pulled away in the second half.

Vandalia (5-1) led 43-29 at halftime and outscored the Bulldogs 33-0 in the second half.

For Staunton (2-4), Griffin Bianco completed 14 of 25 passes for 202 yards and two touchdowns.

Marcus Karl rushed for 94 yards on nine carries. He also caught three passes for 92 yards.

Pleasant Plains 28, North Mac 21

At Virden, the Panthers lost their third straight after three straight wins to open the season.

Plains led 28-7 after three quarters in improving to 3-3.

North Mac got a 19-yard touchdown pass from Christopher Rouse to Gage Gibson, and two touchdown runs in the fourth quarter from Jake VanAusdall of 67 and one yard.

GFNW 50, North Greene 6

At Palmyra, the Tigers improved to 3-3 by defeating the Spartans in a WIVC-South matchup.

Jacob Foiles rushed 23 times for 212 yards and a touchdown. Denver Davenport scored three touchdowns and rushed for 154 yards. All told, the Tigers had 466 rushing yards.

Zane Thompson completed five of nine passes for 58 yards.
