Files to celebrate 60th wedding anniversary

CARLINVILLE (June 21, 2018) – Fred Jr. and Wilma “Cricket” (Eyer) File will celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary Thursday, June 28. They were married in 1958 in Carlinville.

Mr. File is the son of the late Fred and Mildred File, who were residents of Waverly. Mrs. File is the daughter of the late Leland “Ink” and Verda Eyer, who resided in Palmyra.

The couple owned and operated Northside Tavern (Fredo and Cricket’s) in Palmyra for 15 years before moving to a farm where they currently reside. Mr. File still farms, and Mrs. File is a housewife.

They have three children, Susie (Brian) Fenton of Palmyra, Kathy (Bill) Wolff of Chesterfield, Mo., and Steve File of Palmyra; 13 grandchildren, Elizabeth (Dan) Luper, Jamey Fenton, Natasha Talkington, Michele (Joe) Miller, D.J. (Brittney) Fenton, Trista (Eric) Woods, Jessica (Ray) Carrasco, Kayla (Bobby) Caldwell, Kelsey (Ross) Washburn, Richard File, Billy Wolff, Ellen (David) Johnson and Jenny (Todd) Young; 14 great-grandchildren, Gunnar, Kohltynn, Natalia, Rileigh, Kanyon, Olivia, Christian, Reagan, Braxton, Fredrick, Dominick, Lennon, Averie and Lucy, plus three more on the way.

The couple were honored with a surprise party on Saturday, June 16, hosted by their family.
