Farm to Table menu features locally produced foods

CARLINVILLE (March 29, 2018) – At its third annual Farm to Table dinner and entertainment event on Saturday, April 28, the Carlinville Area Hospital Foundation will serve a multi-course meal consisting almost exclusively of locally produced foods.

The menu will include steak from Starr’s Primal Meats, grilled by Farm Credit; strawberry spinach salad from local producers; asparagus from a local source; local sweet corn fresh off the cob; potatoes; rolls with optional apple butter from Broom Orchard; three varieties of dessert; and Prairie Farms ice cream.

Guests will also have an opportunity to sample wines from Wild Pickens winery in Chesterfield, with two complimentary bottles of wine on each table. As in previous years, the wine glasses on the tables are souvenirs to take home. Beer, tea, coffee, soda and water will be provided free of charge, and there will also be a cash bar for mixed drinks. “For something different, we’ll also have a special, signature drink made from Broom’s apple cider,” said event coordinator Jaime Bray.

Entertainment will be provided by Gillespie singer/guitarist Joe Frew and the Miles Station Band, led by singer Lori Franke.

The event will be held at the Bates Building on the Macoupin County Fairgrounds. Doors open at 5:30 p.m., and dinner will begin at 6:30 p.m.

Tickets cost $40 per person or $280 for a table of eight and are still available at Carlinville Area Hospital, Advanced EyeCare Centers, Micelle’s Pharmacy in Carlinville and Gillespie, and My Sister’s Closet on the Carlinville square.
