Farm to Table feast April 28

CARLINVILLE (March 22, 2018) – For the third year in a row, Carlinville Area Hospital Foundation, in partnership with area farmers and businesses, will host a dinner and entertainment night in the Bates Building on the Macoupin County Fairgrounds just north of Carlinville. The event is open to the public and will be held Saturday, April 28, with festivities beginning at 5:30 p.m. and dinner at 6:30 p.m.

Tickets cost $40 per person or $280 for a table of eight, payable with cash or check. Tickets are available at Carlinville Area Hospital, Advanced EyeCare Centers, My Sister’s Closet and Michelle’s Pharmacy in Carlinville and Gillespie. Only advance tickets will be sold; no tickets will be available at the door.

“The community has certainly supported our local hospital, and this event has given us an opportunity to celebrate the importance of local, whether it is local healthcare, local farmers, local business or local talent,” said event coordinator Jamie Bray. “There is no solicitation for donations at our Farm to Table evening. It is simply an event for the community, and we want guests to just enjoy themselves. We have already sold 17 tables in just three weeks, so we anticipate that we will sell out again. I encourage those guests who are interested in joining us to buy tickets early. It’s a fun night out, it’s local, it’s really good food and it’s a celebration of what we have and can be proud of in our own back yard.”

Entertainment will be provided by Gillespie’s popular singer/guitarist Joe Free, as well as the Miles Station Band, which includes Eric Cooper on lead guitar, Lori Franke as lead vocalist, Chris Hammann on bass, John Hand on keyboard, Mike Musgrove on drums and Jerry Price on rhythm guitar.

“We’re announcing this well ahead of the dinner date because even with 50 tables set for 400 people, we sold out fairly early last year and probably will again this time,” said Bray. “I urge everyone to get their tickets soon. If you have friends or family who are interested, then by all means buy a table and save some money.”
