Davis sworn into 116th Congress

U.S. Rep. Rodney Davis was sworn into the 116th Congress on Thursday, Jan. 3, accompanied by his children, Griffin, Toryn and Clark.

“I’m honored for another opportunity to represent the people of central and southwest Illinois in Congress,” said Davis in a statement after being sworn in. “I’m hopeful we can build on the successes of last Congress and find common ground to ensure government is working for the people we serve.”

He continued, “Last Congress, we made economic growth a priority and because of that, we’re starting 2019 with the lowest unemployment rate in 50 years, American workers keeping more of what they earn, and American businesses competing on a level playing field with the rest of the world. I hope to continue this success by focusing on issues that impact every American, like creating more job growth opportunities through workforce training, investing in our nation’s infrastructure, easing the burden of student loan debt and passing meaningful reforms to lower the cost of health care in this country.”
