Cross country teams in action at EAWR

The Carlinville cross country teams tuned up for Tuesday’s home invitational by running in the East Alton-Wood River invitational Saturday at Belk Park in Wood River.

The results were by class. Freshman boys had the Carlinville runner Jacob Landon taking first with a time of 17:14, while classmate/teammate Bailey Lippold was third at 17:33.

For the sophomore boys, Jason Landon and Charles Helton IV led the way. Landon was first at 16:41, with Helton second at 16:46. Fellow classmate Grayson Armour was ninth at 17:03. Samuel Mock was 11th at 17:22.

Carlinville’s top junior runner was Jack Kufa, 21st overall at 20:53.

Cory Landon led the senior boys race by winning with a time of 16:08, tied with teammate Nolan Kreipe also at 16:08.

On the girls side, Carlinville freshman Molly Lewis placed fourth at 20:45.

The Carlinville sophomores had a couple in the top three and four of the top 10 runs, as Madelynn Williams took second at 20:26 and classmate Stasia Nejmanowski was third at 21:04. Teammates Ryleigh Gibbel finishes seventh at 21:50 and Mackenzie Harris was ninth at 22:01. Rachel Strubbe finished 24th at 25:52.

For the juniors, Carlinville’s Camryn Bremer was ninth at 22:08. Bailey Cox finished 15th at 23:46.

Colleen Madden and Jacey Roper helped lead the senior girls, as Madden was second at 18:20. roper took third at 18:55. Abby Fleischer was 20th at 31:31.
