Lawsuits

Donna Schlief filed a complaint April 12 against Paul Phelan, GT/LT and Trust #96-110 and John Does 1-100, alleging the defendants are responsible for leaking underground storage tanks on property used for many years as a gas station, directly adjacent to Schlief’s property, that reportedly caused her property to become contaminated. She seeks compensation for the defendants’ contamination, use and occupancy of her property, punitive damages, and such other relief as the court deems just and proper.

Chad J. Strohkirch filed a complaint April 13 against Aaron P. Parko in connection with a May 12, 2015, incident in which Parko allegedly entered Strohkirch’s home and assaulted him. Strohkirch seeks a judgment against Parko in a dollar amount to satisfy the jurisdictional limitation of the court and additional amounts as the court deems proper, plus costs of the suit.

Felonies

Terry A. Rigney, 33, Virden, has been charged with two counts of meth possession — one in connection with a Feb. 27 incident in which he allegedly possessed less than five grams of meth and one in connection with an April 10 incident in which he allegedly possessed more than five grams but less than 15 grams of a substance containing meth.

William K. Flowers, 27, Carlinville, has been charged with two counts of unlawful failure to register as a sex offender in connection with an April 5 incident in which he allegedly knowingly gave false information to Carlinville Police Department, stating that he was homeless when he had been living in the 700 block of Johnson Street and stating he was unemployed when he had been working at Camden’s Wine and Cellar.

Misdemeanors

Richard A. King, 41, Marissa, has been charged with assault in connection with an April 10 incident in which he allegedly raised his fist at and advanced toward an individual.

Theodore M. Holmes, 46, Palmyra, has been charged with disorderly conduct in connection with an April 10 incident in which he allegedly stated he would kill an individual if the individual called the police.

Joseph D. Washington, 33, Carlinville, has been charged with domestic battery in connection with an April 9 incident in which he allegedly grabbed an individual by the neck.

Vickie L. Ferratto, 53, Benld, has been charged with deceptive practices in connection with Jan. 20, Feb. 6 and Feb. 8 incidents in which she allegedly delivered checks for $97.91 to Randy’s Market, knowing her bank would not honor the drafts.

Clinton C. Dunbar, now 24, Girard, has been charged with deceptive practices in connection with a Feb. 10 incident in which he allegedly delivered a check for $60 to Joseph F. Boente and Sons, Inc., knowing his bank would not honor the draft.

Brandy L. Augustine, now 37, Staunton, has been charged with deceptive practices in connection with a Feb. 4 incident in which she allegedly delivered a check for $149 to Animal Doctors LLP, knowing her bank would not honor the draft.

Jesse A. Scroggins, 38, Bunker Hill, has been charged with deceptive practices in connection with a Feb. 8 incident in which he allegedly delivered a check for $30 to Animal Doctors LLP, knowing his bank would not honor the draft.

Jenni L. Parish, 39, Litchfield, has been charged with deceptive practices in connection with a Jan. 25 incident in which she allegedly delivered a check for $59.69 to Macoupin Family Practice Centers LLP, knowing her bank would not honor the draft.

Chandra A. Bosler, 27, Hillsboro, has been charged with battery in connection with an April 16 incident in which she allegedly struck an individual in the face with her fist.

DUI

Clarence A. Steele, 43, Carlinville, has been charged with driving under the influence and driving on a suspended license in connection with an April 11 incident in which he allegedly drove a gold 1996 Chevrolet at the intersection of Route 4 and Judd Street, Nilwood.
