Lawsuits

Tresea Loveless filed a complaint Aug. 28 against Amy Hartman in connection with an April 18 automobile accident, seeking a sum in excess of $50,000, plus costs.

Central Illinois Realty Company filed a complaint in forcible entry and detainer Aug. 22 against James Bolton and Christina Cates, seeking possession of property in Virden and $1,628.50 for rent ($892.50), attorney’s fees, costs and service.

Central Illinois Realty Company filed a complaint in forcible entry and detainer Aug. 22 against Greg and Shawntel Edgington, seeking possession of property in Virden and $1,733.50 for rent ($997.50), attorney’s fees, costs and service.

General Credit Acceptance Company, LLC, filed a complaint Aug. 22 against Frank Wallace, seeking $10,983.28 unpaid on a retail installment contract and security agreement, plus interest from April 27, reasonable attorney’s fees and court costs.

Macoupin County Housing Authority filed a complaint in forcible entry and detainer Aug. 22 against Alexandria Costello, seeking possession of property in Virden; rent, late charges, and/or other monies due and owing; reasonable attorney’s fees; and court costs.

General Credit Acceptance Company, LLC, filed a complaint Aug. 23 against Dena M. Howard, AKA Dena M. Cox, seeking $10,054.50 unpaid on a retail installment contract and security agreement, plus interest from Oct. 30, 2014, reasonable attorney’s fees and court costs.

1st MidAmerica Credit Union filed a complaint Aug. 23 against Katie L. and Anthony J. Santillo, seeking $11,448.86 unpaid on a retail installment contract, plus interest at a rate of 8.54 percent from June 12, reasonable attorney’s fees and costs.

Kathy VanBebber filed a complaint in forcible entry and detainer Aug. 23 against Tracy Lyons, seeking possession of property in Palmyra.

Central Illinois Realty Company filed a complaint in forcible entry and detainer Aug. 24 against Courtnie Ferguson, Nathaniel Black and all unknown occupants, seeking possession of property in Virden and $1,971 for rent ($1,300), attorney’s fees, costs and service.

Robert Mengelkamp filed a complaint in replevin Aug. 24 against Steve Hannigan, AKA Berg Welding, seeking the return of a 1923 Ford Model T.

Ron Giger and Marilyn Galvan filed a complaint in forcible entry and detainer Aug. 28 against Sabbastain Schafer and Alyssa Painter, seeking possession of property in Girard; $1,200 rent; costs of court, attorney’s fees and expenses; unpaid utilities, if any; and damages to the property, if any.

Chris Ross filed a complaint in forcible entry and detainer Aug. 28 against Kyra Mostago, seeking possession of property in Mt. Olive; all rent and arrears to the date Mostago is removed from the premises; reimbursement for repair for any damages caused by Mostago; attorney’s fees and costs of the suit.

1st MidAmerica Credit Union, formerly known as Olin Community Credit Union, filed a complaint Aug. 28 against Judy K. McElroy, seeking $10,326.37 unpaid on a credit account, interest at a rate of 9.96 percent from Aug. 2, reasonable attorney’s fees and costs.

Felonies

Zachary T. Gears, 25, Staunton, has been charged with unlawful possession of cannabis (more than 30 grams but less than 500 grams) with intent to deliver in connection with an Aug. 18 incident.

Ricky M. Parker, 58, Benld, has been charged with meth possession (less than five grams) in connection with an Aug. 20 incident.

John A. Vacanti, 30, Gillespie, has been charged with obstructing justice in connection with an Aug. 12 incident in which, with the intent to obstruct the prosecution of himself, he allegedly knowingly furnished false information to a Macoupin County Sheriff’s deputy in that he told the deputy that Kelsey M. Jarman was driving a Chevrolet Cavalier when it was involved in a rollover crash, when he had actually been driving the vehicle.

Kelsey M. Jarman, 27, Staunton, has been charged with obstructing justice in connection with an Aug. 12 incident in which, with the intent to obstruct the prosecution of John A. Vacanti, she allegedly knowingly furnished false information to a Macoupin County Sheriff’s deputy in that she told the deputy that she was driving a Chevrolet Cavalier when it was involved in a rollover crash, when Vacanti had actually been driving the vehicle.

Alicia M. Dowell, 49, Moscow Mills, Mo., has been charged with possession of a stolen vehicle, theft and driving under the influence of drugs in connection with an Aug. 19 incident in which she allegedly possessed a 2014 Chevrolet truck, knowing it to have been stolen, and exerted unauthorized control over a 2014 Chevrolet truck belonging to Petersburg Plumbing and Excavating, valued at more than $10,000 but less than $100,000.

Shawn A. Willis, 23, Mulberry Grove, has been charged with unlawful possession of less than five grams of meth with intent to deliver in connection with an Aug. 22 incident.

Caitlin D. Page, 24, Sawyerville, has been charged with unlawful possession of less than five grams of meth in connection with an Aug. 22 incident.

Andrew E. Erwin, 33, Sawyerville, has been charged with unlawful possession of less than five grams of meth in connection with an Aug. 22 incident.

Brittany J. Parker, now 28, Bunker Hill, has been charged with theft in connection with a Jan. 5 incident in which she allegedly exerted unauthorized control over more than $500 but less than $10,000 of U.S. currency belonging to Short Stop gas station, Bunker Hill.

William A. Noe, 29, Wilsonville, has been charged with meth possession (more than 15 grams but less than 100 grams) in connection with an Aug. 23 incident.

Steven W. Griffin, 37, homeless, has been charged with unlawful failure to register as a sex offender and disorderly conduct in connection with an Aug. 25 incident in which he allegedly failed to register with the chief of Palmyra Police Department within three days after he established a temporary domicile in Palmyra, and threatened to have an individual killed.

Alphonso M. Anderson, 20, Carlinville, has been charged with burglary and criminal damage to property in connection with an Aug. 27 incident in which he allegedly entered a building in the 100 block of Center Street, Carlinville, without authority and with the intent to commit a theft, and caused less than $500 damage to an individual’s patio door by breaking the window of the door.

Misdemeanors

Dylan R. Bennett, 18, has been charged with retail theft, fleeing and eluding, illegal transportation of alcohol, operating an uninsured motor vehicle, operating outside of classification license, no registration, improper lane usage and two counts of disobeying a stop sign in connection with an Aug. 15 incident in which he allegedly took cigars valued at less than $500 from Fast Stop in Virden.

Shane J. Lomelino, 25, Palmyra, has been charged with domestic battery in connection with anAug. 20 incident in which he allegedly struck an individual with his fist.

Harold D. Hubble, 63, Virden, has been charged with retail theft in connection with a July 25 incident in which he allegedly took cigarettes valued at less than $300 from County Market in Girard.

Marina K. Krummel, 26, Carlinville, has been charged with retail theft in connection with a July 30 incident in which she allegedly took shorts valued at less than $300 from Carlinville Walmart.

Randy L. Brink, 51, Springfield, has been charged with retail theft in connection with an Aug. 8 incident in which he allegedly took a Google Chromecast valued at less than $300 from Carlinville Walmart.

Travis J. Bramley, 34, Modesto, has been charged with retail theft in connection with a July 28 incident in which he allegedly took a Samsung Gear smart watch valued at less than $300 from Carlinville Walmart.

Allan M. Springman, 34, Carlinville, has been charged with criminal damage to property and criminal trespass to real property in connection with an Aug. 17 incident in which he allegedly caused less than $500 damage to an apartment window belonging to King Rentals by punching it and breaking it, and entered upon King Rentals property in the 200 block of Carlinville after previously having been notified by King Rentals that entry was forbidden.

Kevin W. Stewart, 20, Carlinville, has been charged with domestic battery in connection with an Aug. 28 incident in which he allegedly struck an individual in the chest with his shoulder.
