Lawsuits

Illinois Bell Telephone Co., d.b.a. AT&T Illinois, filed a complaint for damages May 29 against Stutz Excavating, Inc., in connection with a Feb. 2, 2017, incident in which the defendant allegedly damaged underground utility cable belonging to the plaintiff. They seek $33,126.93, plus court costs.

Megan Leitschuh filed a complaint in forcible entry and detainer May 31 against Haley and Craig Bartholomew and unknown occupants, seeking possession of property in Staunton and $2,600 for rent and plumbing repairs, plus attorney fees and costs.

Doran M. Hampson filed a complaint in forcible entry and detainer June 1 against Elizabeth M. Wicklund, seeking possession of property in Staunton.

Gerald L. Cairns Jr. filed a complaint in forcible entry and detainer June 4 against Rebecca “Becky” Fenley and Jackie Hoppes, seeking possession of property in Gillespie and $3,700 rent.

Alma Cook filed a complaint in forcible entry and detainer June 4 against Terry Stoops, seeking possession of property in Benld, $1,100 rent and court costs.

Felonies

Laura A. Waters, 57, Affton, Mo., has been charged with unlawful possession of a controlled substance (less than 15 grams of a substance containing codeine) in connection with a Nov, 8, 2017, incident.

Travis J. McCoy, 20, Staunton, has been charged with theft in connection with an April 27 incident in which he allegedly exerted unauthorized control over an individual’s ATV and UTV with a total value of more than $10,000 but less than $100,000.

Patrick H. Scroggins, 57, Virden, has been charged with unlawful possession of less than five grams of a substance containing meth in connection with a May 22 incident.

Tamara A. Groth, 59, Springfield, has been charged with unlawful possession of less than five grams of a substance containing meth in connection with a May 22 incident.

Dylan J. Hanks, 24, Staunton, has been charged with meth possession (less than five grams) in connection with a May 26 incident.

Cory F. Stoops, 27, Bunker Hill, has been charged with aggravated battery, criminal damage to government-supported property and disorderly conduct in connection with an incident in which he allegedly pushed an officer in the chest with both hands, causing the officer to fall back; caused more than $500 but less than $10,000 damage to the rear door and rear window of a Macoupin County Sheriff’s Department squad car; and kicked the door and put a hole in the wall of a property in the 7500 block of Detour Road, Bunker Hill.

Curtis L. Faust, 19, St. Charles, Mo., has been charged with unlawful possession of ammunition (nine .22 caliber ammunition)by a felon and unlawful possession of less than five grams of meth in connection with a Feb. 7 incident.

Alphonso M. Anderson Jr., 21, Carlinville, has been charged with theft in connection with a May 24 incident in which he allegedly exerted unauthorized control over an individual’s cash valued at less than $500.

Matthew S. Konneker, 36, Carlinville, has been charged with criminal damage to state-supported property in connection with a May 29 incident in which he allegedly caused less than $500 damage to a culvert belonging to Bird Township.

Misdemeanors

James J. Denby III, 20, Virden, has been charged with criminal trespass to a residence in connection with a May 21 incident in which he allegedly entered a residence in the 500 block of East Dean Street, Virden, without authority.

Janell I. Adams, 34, Girard, has been charged with criminal trespass to a motor vehicle in connection with a May 27 incident in which she allegedly entered an individual’s blue 2012 GMC truck.

Charlie Stainback, 26, Shipman, has been charged with criminal damage to property in connection with a May 27 incident in which he allegedly caused less than $500 damage to an individual’s 2000 Chevrolet Tahoe by throwing a brick at the vehicle’s window.

Kelly A. Hart, 40, Bunker Hill, has been charged with theft in connection with a May 26 incident in which she allegedly exerted unauthorized control over an individual’s $40 cash.

Dawn L. Shales, now 50, Carlinville, has been charged with criminal trespass to real property in connection with a May 26 incident in which she allegedly entered upon an individual’s property in the 200 block of Mounts Street, Carlinville, after being notified by the individual that she was not allowed to enter onto the property.

Dylan R. Bennett, 18, Atwater, has been charged with retail theft in connection with a May 17 incident in which he allegedly took a bottle of Dust-Off valued at less than $500 from Carlinville Walmart.

Rebecca L. Loker, 38, Alton, has been charged with disorderly conduct in connection with a May 24 incident in which she allegedly yelled “bam b—–” at an individual and mimicked firing a gun at the individual outside Macoupin County Courthouse.

Dennis R. Brown, 52, Carlinville, has been charged with theft in connection with a May 29 incident in which he allegedly exerted unauthorized control over an individual’s $440 in U.S. currency.

Kari I. Katuramu, 35, White City, has been charged with domestic battery in connection with a May 30 incident in which she allegedly struck an individual in the face with her fist.

Matthew S. Konneker, now 36, Carlinville, has been charged with four counts of deceptive practices in connection with September 2016 incidents in which he delivered checks for $31.24, $46.53, $48.61 and $19.25 to Mt. Olive Enterprises, knowing his bank would not honor the drafts.

Jessica T. Bishop, 38, Carlinville, has been charged with two counts of deceptive practices in connection with Feb,19 and March 20 incidents in which she allegedly delivered checks for $141.42 and $124.43 to Joseph F. Boente and Sons, knowing her bank would not honor the drafts.

Breann N. Werner, now 25, Mt. Olive, has been charged with two counts of deceptive practices in connection with February 2017 incidents in which she allegedly delivered checks for $100 each to Work Place Pub, knowing her bank would not honor the drafts; she was also charged with two counts of deceptive practices for March 2017 incidents in which she allegedly delivered checks for $17.12 and $6.82 to Mt. Olive Enterprises.

Janet S. Cartwright, 55, Eagarville, has been charged with deceptive practices in connection with a Nov. 10, 2017, incident in which she allegedly delivered a check for $38.57 to Randy’s Market, knowing her bank would not honor the draft.

Teresa M. Buzick, 62, Mt. Olive, has been charged with deceptive practices in connection with an Oct. 12, 2017, incident in which she allegedly delivered a check for $18.94 to Mt. Olive Enterprises, knowing her bank would not honor the draft.

Nicole L. Pruden, 34, Mt. Olive, has been charged with deceptive practices in connection with a June 21, 2017, incident in which she allegedly delivered a check for $32.03 to Mt. Olive Enterprises, knowing her bank would not honor the draft.

DUI

Janine G. Miller, 37, Mt. Olive, has been charged with two counts of driving under the influence and one count of illegal transportation of alcohol in connection with a May 19 incident in which she allegedly drove a silver 2015 Dodge on South Hackman Street east of Oxford Road, Staunton.
