Lawsuits

CNB Bank and Trust, N.A., filed a complaint March 28 against Gwillim Trucking, Inc.; TKNG Transportation, Inc.; and Michael Gwillim AKA Mickey Gwillim in connection with two unpaid promissory notes. From Gwillim Trucking, Inc., they seek possession of several vehicles secured as insurance on the promissory notes, the value of vehicles not delivered, damages for the detention, $171,733.82 unpaid on one promissory note and $26,123.31 unpaid on the other promissory note. From M. Gwillim, they seek $197,857.13 unpaid as a personal guaranty on the first promissory note, plus additional interest accruing after March 27, reasonable attorney’s fees, and costs of the suit.

Heather and Tyler Washburn filed a complaint in forcible entry and detainer March 28 against Jason Peace and Heather Scroggins,seeking possession of property in Gillespie, $1,800 for rent and late fees, plus rent accruing to the date of judgment, attorney’s fees and costs of the suit.

Bernie Elking filed a complaint in forcible entry and detainer March 28 against Tabitha Sherfy and James E. Johnson, seeking possession of property in Carlinville and $3,900 rent.

Ruth E. Loveless/Home Options Company filed a complaint in forcible entry and detainer March 28 against Carra Gray, seeking possession of property in Gillespie, $1,000 rent, $60 in late charges, rent and late charges accruing to the date of judgment, water bills, dumpster cost, and costs of the suit.

Cincinnati Insurance Company, as subrogee of S&H Management, Inc., filed a complaint in forcible entry and detainer March 30 against BCarter Enterprises, Inc., d.b.a. The Bunkhouse, BCarter Enterprises and 16 Bar and Grill in connection with an April 11, 2017, fire, seeking reimbursement of an amount in excess of $29,809.57 paid on an insurance claim, plus interest, costs and fees.

Falcon LTD filed a complaint in forcible entry and detainer April 2 against Michelle Hancock, seeking possession of property in Wilsonville, $5,627.75 unpaid on a contract for deed, that the contract be terminated, attorney’s fees and court costs.

Felonies

Matthew W. Stoops, 26, Woodburn, has been charged with stalking and criminal trespass to real property in connection with a Feb. 23 incident in which he allegedly trespassed within an individual’s motor vehicle on Sept. 17, 2017, and entered or remained upon the individual’s residential real property without the individual’s consent on multiple occasions within the proceeding six months and entered upon the individual’s property after receiving notice from law enforcement that such entry was forbidden.

Jeremy P. Devaisher, 38, Jerseyville, has been charged with driving while license revoked in connection with a March 16 incident in which he allegedly drove a 2004 Chevrolet Impala on Margaret Street, Brighton.

Anthony S. Zumwalt, 23, Gillespie, has been charged with meth possession (more than 15 grams but less than 100 grams of a substance containing meth) in connection with a March 26 incident. He was also charged with driving while license suspended and operating an uninsured motor vehicle in connection with a Sept. 30, 2017, incident; driving while license suspended in connection with a Jan. 22 incident; and no valid registration, operating an uninsured motor vehicle, and driving 11-14 mph above the limit (66 mph in a 55 mph zone) in connection with a March 21 incident.

Tabitha N. Harbaugh, 28, Carlinville, has been charged with unlawful possession of more than 100 grams but less than 500 grams of a substance containing cannabis in connection with a Feb. 28 incident. She was also charged with unlawful possession of a controlled substance in connection with a Dec. 21, 2017, incident in which she allegedly possessed less than 15 grams of a substance containing Fentanyl.

Amber N, Beasley, 25, Bunker Hill, has been charged with escape in connection with a March 23 incident in which she allegedly intentionally failed to report for imprisonment at Macoupin County Jail.

Mathew S. Konneker, 36, Hillsboro, has been charged with unlawful possession with intent to deliver meth (less than five grams) in connection with a Feb. 17 incident.

Christopher W. Nix, 43, Carlinville, has been charged with meth possession (less than five grams) in connection with a Jan. 23 incident.

Kristian J. Bottoms, 39, Girard, has been charged with meth possession (less than five grams) in connection with a Jan. 23 incident.

Sherri A. Smith, 43, Theodore, Ala., has been charged with meth possession (less than five grams) in connection with a Jan. 23 incident.

Alexandria K. Costello, 21, Palmyra, has been charged with unlawful possession of less than five grams of meth in connection with a Dec. 19, 2017, incident. She was also charged with unlawful distribution of a lookalike substance in connection with a July 12, 2017, incident.

Tabitha J. Sherfy, 35, Carlinville, has been charged with unlawful possession of a controlled substance (a substance containing cocaine) in connection with a Feb. 1 incident.

Vernon E. Haustein, 30, Staunton, has been charged with violation of an order of protection in connection with a March 31 incident in which he allegedly was in a residence within 500 feet of a person.

Travis J. McCoy, 30, Staunton, has been charged with burglary in connection with a March 30 incident in which he allegedly entered an individual’s building in the 20000 block of Staunton Road,

Misdemeanors

Richard A. Hartsoe, 23, Granite City, has been charged with domestic battery in connection with a March 16 incident in which he allegedly threw an individual against the ground.

Nathan P. Johnson, 28, Brighton, has been charged with violation of an order of protection in connection with a March 23 incident in which he allegedly was present at a protected location.

Alma E. Nerone, 48, Springfield, has been charged with two counts of deceptive practices in connection with incidents in which she allegedly delivered checks while knowing her bank would not honor the draft: $83.54 to Joseph F. Boente and Sons on Jan. 25 and $132.97 to Carl’s IGA on Jan. 26.

Curt A. Deming, 48, Carlinville, has been charged with deceptive practices in connection with an Aug. 23, 2017, incident in which he allegedly delivered a check for $228.98 to Carl’s IGA, knowing his bank would not honor the draft.

Brittany N. Peterson, now 29, Chatham, has been charged with two counts of deceptive practices in connection with incidents in which she allegedly delivered checks to Joseph F. Boente and Sons while knowing her bank would not honor the drafts: $20 on Jan. 19, 2016, and $25 on Jan. 31, 2016.

Tammy L. Mitchusson, 45, Virden, has been charged with nine counts of deceptive practices in connection with incidents in which she allegedly delivered checks to Joseph F. Boente and Sons, knowing her bank would not honor the drafts: $41.45, $31.42 and $25.77 on Jan. 19; $33.13 on Jan. 17; $39.03 and $32.27 on Jan. 15; $20 and $48.86 on Jan. 14; and $31.42 on Jan. 13.

Debra J. Schlechte, 40, Carlinville, has been charged with five counts of deceptive practices in connection with incidents in which she allegedly delivered checks to Joseph F. Boente and Sons, knowing her bank would not honor the drafts: $26.48 on Jan. 22, $24.08 on Jan. 21, $25.06 and $30.50 on Feb. 7, and $30.81 on Feb. 8.

Brett A. Clardy, Jr., 18, Brighton, has been charged with obstruction of a peace officer and driving under the influence of drugs in connection with an April 2 incident in which he allegedly kicked an officer in the leg.

DUIs

Dana Bailey, 55, St. Louis, Mo., has been charged with driving under the influence in connection with a Jan. 27 incident in which he allegedly drove a black 2006 Ford in the 6800 block of Route 16, Shipman.

Mariya E. Jones, 22, Godfrey, has been charged with two counts of driving under the influence and one count of improper lane usage in connection with a March 31 incident in which she allegedly drove a silver 2000 Chevrolet on Route 159 north of Route 138, north of Bunker Hill.
