Lawsuits

James K. Gwinn filed a complaint in forcible entry and detainer Jan. 31 against Julie and Dave Jenkins, seeking possession of property in Carlinville.

Staunton MHP LLC, d.b.a. Raylynn Court, filed a complaint in forcible entry and detainer Feb. 1 against Diana Fields and unknown occupants, seeking possession of property in Staunton, $190 rent, damages to the premises, attorney’s fees, and costs of the suit.

Ronald and Cindy Bertolino filed a complaint in forcible entry and detainer Feb. 5 against Denny and Jennifer Kuhn, seeking possession of property in Gillespie, $1,955 rent, court costs and attorney’s fees.

National Collegiate Student Loan Trust 2007-3 filed a complaint Feb. 6 against Natasha A. Butler, seeking $14,686.87 unpaid on an educational loan; interest of $233.46; post-judgment interest of 9 percent per annum from the date of judgment; and court costs.

Felonies

Jeremy D. Sumlin, 35, Benld, has been charged with resisting a peace officer in connection with a Jan. 11 incident in which he allegedly pulled away from and wrestled with an officer, said action being proximate cause of bodily harm to the officer.

William R. Werner Jr., 21, Gillespie, has been charged with unlawful possession of less than five grams of a substance containing meth in connection with a Jan. 25 incident.

Misdemeanors

Carter J. Davidson, 48, Gillespie, has been charged with domestic battery in connection with a Jan. 30 incident in which he allegedly grabbed an individual and threw the individual out of the residence.

Jeffrey A. Hahn, 45, Decatur, has been charged with violation of an order of protection in connection with a Jan. 28 incident in which he allegedly called a protected person and left a voicemail.

Jack L. Crissey Jr., 61, Virden, has been charged with three counts of violation of an order of protection in connection with Jan. 6 and Jan. 27 incidents in which he allegedly entered a protected location and a Jan. 30 incident in which he allegedly sent text messages to a protected person.

DUIs

Harold E. Valerio, now 67, Gillespie, has been charged with two counts of driving under the influence in connection with a Jan. 27 incident in which he allegedly drove a gray 2002 Chevrolet truck on Tower Road at Route 16.

Carley J. Prince, 22, Kincaid, has been charged with two counts of driving under the influence and one count each of improper lane usage, failure to reduce speed, failure to report an accident to police authority and leaving the scene of an accident involving damage to an attended vehicle in connection with a Jan. 31 incident in which she allegedly drove a tan 2001 Subaru at the intersection of Route 108 and County Road 00E, east of Carlinville.
