Lawsuits

Stephen M. Patterson filed a complaint May 8 against Brandon M. Myatt in connection with a May 19, 2015, automobile accident, seeking a sum in excess of that required to confer jurisdiction to the Circuit division of the court, plus costs.

Credit Acceptance Corp. filed a complaint May 4 against Kiersten Phillips, seeking $11,983.11 unpaid on a retail installment contract covering the sale of an automobile, plus court costs.

Consumer Collections Management filed a complaint May 9 against Harold and Deborah S. McEvers, seeking $13,138.36 unpaid for medical services rendered by Jersey Community Hospital.

Donna R. Walker filed a complaint in forcible entry and detainer May 9 against Michael Walker, seeking possession of property in Gillespie and costs of the suit.

Gary Parker (Hyperion Enterprises) filed a complaint in forcible entry and detainer May 9 against John and Jeannie Alexander, d.b.a. Books on the Square, seeking possession of property in Virden, $250 rent and $40 for utilities.

Felony

Amy S. Odle, 43, Sawyerville, has been charged with meth possession (less than five grams) in connection with a May 1 incident. She was also charged with driving on a suspended license and operating an uninsured motor vehicle.

Misdemeanors

Jacqueline A. Saffell, 36, Greenfield, has been charged with three counts of deceptive practices in connection with Jan. 21 and Feb. 22 incidents in which she allegedly delivered checks for $250, $300 and $300 to Waytown Tavern, knowing her bank would not honor the drafts.

Jesse A. Scroggins, 38, Bunker Hill, has been charged with deceptive practices in connection with a Feb. 22 incident in which he allegedly delivered a check for $30.15 to Animal Doctors LLP, knowing his bank would not honor the draft.

Mia K. McKee, now 31, Gillespie, has been charged with deceptive practices in connection with a Jan. 20 incident in which she allegedly delivered a check for $83.42 to Randy’s Market, knowing her bank would not honor the draft.

Sheila M. Bell, 44, Staunton, has been charged with deceptive practices in connection with a Feb. 27 incident in which she allegedly delivered a check for $126 to Animal Doctors LLP, knowing her bank would not honor the draft.

Cassandra L. Lofland, 34, Girard, has been charged with two counts of battery in connection with a May 2 incident in which she allegedly pulled hair out of an individual’s head and punched another individual in the face with a closed fist.

DUI

Rudolph P. Jackson, now 53, Royal Lakes, has been charged with driving under the influence, failure to reduce speed and failure to wear a seat belt in connection with a Feb. 25 incident in which he allegedly drove a purple 2006 Pontiac on Route 159 north of Route 138, north of Bunker Hill.
