Lawsuits

In November 2015 case transferred from Madison County, Brian Irwin, a disabled person, by and through his next friend, Michael Glisson, filed a complaint Feb. 6 against Norfolk Southern Railway Company, Bryan Dale Woolard and Jacon T. Wallis in connection with a Feb. 14, 2014, incident in which a truck operated by Irwin was struck by a train operated by Woolard and Wallis. Irwin seeks an amount in excess of $50,000 from each defendant.

Monstanto Company filed a complaint at law Feb. 28 against William L. Royer, seeking $57,074.23 unpaid on a seed purchase agreement, plus interest, attorney’s fees and court costs.

Jashlin LTD filed a complaint in forcible entry and detainer Feb. 28 against Spencer and Alicia Mims, seeking possession of property in Bunker Hill and $4,500 rent, plus $4,750 rent for another property and $2,775 in damages for the second property.

State Farm Fire and Casualty Company, a/s/o Jeffrey T. Blumenstein, filed a complaint March 3 against  G.L. Warren Construction Inc., alleging that the defendant caused a sewer backup ion Blumenstein’s home, necessitating repairs. The plaintiff seeks $17,245.33 plus costs of the suit.

Daniel E. Cook filed a complaint in forcible entry and detainer March 3 against James Lindsey, Patricia Harbaugh, Milburn Lindsey and Roni Richardson, seeking possession of property in Carlinville.

Vickie Duckett-Baldwin filed a complaint in forcible entry and detainer March 6 against Andrew Baker and Carrie Stone Baker, seeking possession of property in Brighton and $810 rent.

Felonies

Austin J. Fanning, 23, Carlinville, has been charged with meth possession (less than five grams) in connection with a Feb. 19 incident. He was also charged with failure to wear a seat belt.

Melisa J. Middleton, 34, Gillespie, has been charged with unlawful possession of less than five grams of meth in connection with a Feb. 25 incident.

Lawrence W. Gettleman, 51, Bunker Hill, has been charged with unlawful possession of a controlled substance (less than 15 grams of a substance containing heroin) in connection with a Jan. 31 incident.

Thomas M. Deck, 58, Carlinville, has been charged with driving while license revoked in connection with a Jan. 27 incident in which he allegedly drove a gray 2014 Ford Escape on Route 159 near Rust Road, south of Bunker Hill. He was also charged with operating an uninsured motor vehicle and driving 15-20 mph above the limit (74 mph in a 55 mph zone).

Ricardo Perkins, 38, Chicago, has been charged with unlawful transportation of contraband cigarettes and unlawful possession of contraband cigarettes in connection with a March 1 incident in which he allegedly, with the intent to evade the tax imposed by the Illinois Cigarette Tax Act, transported original packages of cigarettes containing a total of more than 40,000 cigarettes without Illinois tax stamps and possessed more than 1,000 packages of contraband cigarettes. He was also charged with illegal transportation of alcohol and failure to signal when required.

William C. Thomas, 21, Springfield, has been charged with unlawful possession of less than five grams of a substance containing meth in connection with a March 4 incident.

Thomas W. Roswell, 54, Bunker Hill, has been charged with unlawful possession of a controlled substance (a substance containing heroin) in connection with a March 3 incident.

Charles E. Eddington, 32, Irving, has been charged with meth delivery in connection with a March 5 incident in which he allegedly possessed more than five grams but less than 15 grams of meth with the intent to deliver.

Misdemeanors

Richard W. Wilson, now 34, Mt. Olive, has been charged with criminal trespass to a motor vehicle in connection with a Feb. 22 incident in which he allegedly operated an individual’s 2006 Pontiac without authority.

Dustin R. Nash, 26, Moro, has been charged with resisting a peace officer in connection with a Feb. 25 incident in which he allegedly refused an officer’s commands to lie on the ground to be handcuffed.

Nicholas R. Hupp, 21, Staunton, has been charged with domestic battery in connection with a Feb. 25 incident in which he allegedly held an individual on the floor while the individual was attempting to leave the residence.

Jonah M. Niehaus, 18, Mt. Olive, has been charged with illegal consumption of alcohol by a minor in connection with a Feb. 14 incident.

Alex M. Meyers, 18, Gillespie, has been charged with illegal consumption of alcohol by a minor in connection with a Feb. 22 incident.

Melanie L. Destatte, 20, Staunton, has been charged with illegal consumption of alcohol by a minor in connection with a Feb. 22 incident.

DUIs

Dustin R. Nash, 26, Moro, has been charged with driving under the influence in connection with a Feb. 25 incident in which he allegedly drove a gray 2016 Chevrolet on Interstate 55 northbound near milepost 50.

Chandra A. Bosler, 27, Hillsboro, has been charged with two counts of driving under the influence and one count of driving on a suspended license in connection with a Feb. 27 incident in which she allegedly drove a white 2002 Oldsmobile Carryall on Second Street at Wilson Street, Gillespie.

James P. Clausen, 50, Florissant, Mo., has been charged with driving under the influence and driving 11-14 mph above the limit (83 mph in a 70 mph zone) in connection with a Feb. 21 incident in which he allegedly drove a tan 1999 Toyota Sienna on Interstate 55 at milepost 45.

Zachary A. Johnston, 35, Gillespie, has been charged with driving under the influence and improper lane usage in connection with a March 5 incident in which he allegedly drove a silver 1996 Dodge on Route 4 at Calcari Street, Gillespie.

Shawn A. Salazar, 21, Carlinville, has been charged with driving under the influence and improper lane usage in connection with a March 5 incident in which he allegedly drove a red 2009 Nissan on Route 4 at Jacob Lane, north of Gillespie.

Jeremy D. Warren, 33, Wood River, has been charged with two counts of driving under the influence and one count of improper lane usage in connection with a March 5 incident in which he allegedly drove a black 2002 Chevrolet truck on Route 16 at Walker Road, west of Gillespie.

Bobbie J. Doyle, 36, Carlinville, has been charged with driving under the influence, improper lane usage and leaving the scene of an accident in connection with a March 4 incident in which she allegedly drove a red 2010 Chevrolet truck on West Nicholas Street at Denby Street, Carlinville.
