National Collegiate Student Loan filed a complaint Dec. 20 against Rachel R. Stout, seeking $47,859.20 unpaid on a note, plus $6,479.20 interest and post-judgment interest at a rate of 9 percent per annum from the date of judgment, as well as court costs.

Michael Johnson filed a complaint Dec. 20 against Gene Dickinson, seeking an amount in excess of $50,000, plus costs, in connection with a July 15 automobile accident.

Jennifer Rahn filed a complaint for eviction Dec. 19 against Chris and Laee Murphy and unknown occupants, seeking possession of property in Girard and $400 rent.

Discover Bank filed a complaint Dec. 21 against Heather Campbell, seeking $10,032.90 unpaid on a credit account, plus court costs.

Felonies

Tara M. Hancock, 26, Mt. Olive, has been charged with retail theft in connection with a Sept. 16 incident in which she allegedly took a car charger, notebook and sticky notes valued at less than $500 from Carlinville Walmart.

Christopher B. James, 31, Virden, has been charged with unlawful possession of a controlled substance in connection with a Nov. 23 incident in which he allegedly possessed less than 15 grams of a substance containing hydrocodone.

Joshua R. Baker, 33, Virden, has been charged with driving while license revoked in connection with a Nov. 22 incident in which he allegedly drove a 2003 Toyota pickup on Shipman Blacktop, Carlinville.

Derek W. Murle, 29, Carlinville, has been charged with meth possession (less than five grams) in connection with a Sept. 23 incident.

Brandon L. Golbricht, 25, Carlinville, has been charged with aggravated battery and violation of an order of protection in connection with a Dec. 17 incident in which he allegedly kicked a peace officer in the knee and entered into the garage of a protected location.

Nicholas C. Price, 19, Gillespie, has been charged with unlawful possession of a controlled substance (a substance containing Clonazolam) in connection with a Nov. 20 incident.

Shawna M. Brown, 30, Witt, has been charged with meth possession (less than five grams) in connection with a Dec. 20 incident.

Christian A. Miller, 18, Carlinville, has been charged with aggravated battery in connection with a Dec. 20 incident in which he allegedly struck a person over the age of 60 in the face with his hand.

Kevin T. Robinson, 31, Virden, has been charged with two counts of aggravated battery in connection with a Dec. 18 incident in which he allegedly threw a person under the age of 13 onto the armrest of a couch and dragged the same person by the hair.

Griffin M. McGary, 21, Girard, has been charged with possession of a stolen vehicle, obstruction of justice, fleeing and eluding, and obstructing identification in connection with a Dec. 21 incident in which he allegedly possessed a 2010 Chevrolet car, knowing it to have been stolen; concealed evidence by abandoning the car in an unknown location; fled from a traffic stop before being released from the traffic stop; and furnished a false name to a peace officer who had detained him. He was also charged with operating an uninsured motor vehicle, having no driver’s license and failure to signal when required.

Misdemeanors

Mauldine G. Allen, 52, St. Louis, Mo., has been charged with criminal trespass to real property in connection with a Dec. 1 incident in which she allegedly entered upon property commonly known as Rainbow Laundry at 110 North Hibbard Street, Staunton, after being notified by law enforcement that entry onto said property was forbidden.

Austin M. Weatherford, 21, Carlinville, has been charged with battery in connection with a Dec. 9 incident in which he allegedly grabbed an individual by the throat and squeezed.

Thomas L. Pitman, 42, Carlinville, has been charged with disorderly conduct in connection with a Dec. 10 incident in which he allegedly transmitted a report to a public safety agency without reasonable grounds necessary to believe that transmitting the report was necessary for the safety and welfare of the public, in that he called 911 stating he wanted to go to jail.

Christopher S. Cox, now 43, Mt. Olive, has been charged with theft of utility services in connection with a May 31 incident in which he allegedly knowingly diverted water running through a public utility without the consent of the city of Mt. Olive.

Aaron D. Huffines, 40, Virden, has been charged with two counts of domestic battery in connection with a Dec. 12 incident in which he allegedly struck an individual in the head with his hand and hugged the individual to restrain the individual from leaving the residence.

Shemon J. Martin, 29, Belleville, has been charged with obstructing identification in connection with a Dec. 7 incident in which he allegedly furnished a false name to a peace officer who had detained him.

Janelle I. Adams, 34, Girard, has been charged with disorderly conduct in connection with a Dec. 14 incident in which she allegedly yelled at an individual after breaking a window with her hand.

Edward Coward, 39, Florissant, Mo., has been charged with domestic battery in connection with a Dec. 18 incident in which he allegedly struck an individual in the head with his hand.

Rebecca L. McGown, 28, Virden, has been charged with escape in connection with a Dec. 6 incident in which she allegedly failed to report to Macoupin County Jail when ordered to do so.

Ricky A. Wedderburn, 24, Wilsonville, has been charged with retail theft in connection with a Dec. 18 incident in which he allegedly took pruning shears valued at less than $300 from Ace Hardware in Staunton.

Lacee A. Murphy, 40, Girard, has been charged with assault in connection with a Dec. 20 incident in which she allegedly threatened to “slice” an individual.

DUIs

Rodney E. Cox Jr., 25, Granite City, has been charged with two counts of driving under the influence and one count each of operating an uninsured motor vehicle, disobeying a stop sign and driving 11-14 mph above the speed limit (38 mph in a 25 mph zone) in connection with a Nov. 21 incident in which he allegedly drove a grey 2017 Chevrolet truck on Main Street at Route 66, Mt. Olive.
