Lawsuits

Central Illinois Realty Company filed a complaint in forcible entry and detainer Nov. 20 against Angel McCoy, seeking possession of property in Virden and $1,927 for rent ($1,321), attorney’s fees, costs and service.

Central Illinois Realty Company filed a complaint in forcible entry and detainer Nov. 20 against Mindy Grigsby and Terry McElroy, seeking possession of property in Virden and $2,243 for rent ($1,507), attorney’s fees, costs and service.

Doug Kessinger and Sue Pirok filed a complaint in forcible entry and detainer Nov. 27 against JD Adams, seeking possession of property in Gillespie and $700 rent, plus costs and damages.

Felonies

Michael W. Wallace, 40, Staunton, has been charged with domestic battery in connection with a Nov. 19 incident in which he allegedly smacked an individual in the face with his hand, causing bleeding.

Brian S. Crays, 40, Virden, has been charged with criminal trespass to a residence in connection with a Nov. 21 incident in which he allegedly entered a residence in the 300 block of West Dean Street, Virden, and knowingly remained in the residence after he knew or had reason to know that one or more persons were present.

Bolletto, 40, Divernon, has been charged with criminal trespass to a residence in connection with a Nov. 21 incident in which she allegedly entered a residence in the 300 block of West Dean Street, Virden, and knowingly remained in the residence after he knew or had reason to know that one or more persons were present.

Neshawn T. Perkins, 37, Robbins, has been charged with unlawful possession of contraband cigarettes and unlawful transportation of contraband cigarettes in connection with a Nov. 20 incident in which he allegedly possessed more than 250 but less than 1,000 packages of contraband cigarettes; with the intent to evade the tax imposed by the Illinois Cigarette Tax Act, knowingly transported original packages of cigarettes containing more than 2,000 cigarettes into or within Illinois without Illinois tax stamps; was not a distributor or secondary distributor of cigarettes licensed by the Illinois Department of Revenue; was not in compliance with Chapter 52 of the Internal Revenue Code; was not a common carrier; and did not have a permit from the Illinois Department of Revenue for transportation of cigarettes without a tax stamp. He was also charged with illegal transportation of alchol by a passenger and passenger required to wear seat belt.

Misdemeanors

Justin J. Fyffe, 19, Mt. Olive, has been charged with illegal consumption of alcohol by a minor, not driving on the right side of the road and illegal transportation or possession of open alcohol in connection with a Nov. 18 incident.

Caitlin D. Page, 24, Sawyerville, has been charged with theft in connection with a Nov. 16 incident in which she allegedly took an individual’s shoes and clothing valued at less than $500.

Samuel M. Roach Jr., 33, Gillespie, has been charged with theft in connection with a Nov. 16 incident in which he allegedly took an individual’s green backpack valued at less than $500.

Chad A. Gunn, 37, Girard, has been charged with violation of an order of protection in connection with a Nov. 23 incident in which he allegedly was in a passenger vehicle with the petitioner.

DUIs

Ryan S. Bedgood, 41, Wilmar, Ala., has been charged with two counts of driving under the influence and one count each of illegal transportation of alcohol, improper lane usage and operating an uninsured motor vehicle in connection with a Nov 18 incident in which he allegedly drove a gray 2009 Chevrolet truck on Route 111 at Birch Road, Palmyra.

Bryttnie M. Springer, 25, St. Louis, Mo., has been charged with driving under the influence, failure to dim headlights and driving 15-20 mph above the limit (72 mph in a 55 mph zone) in connection with a Nov. 18 incident in which she allegedly drove a gray 2014 Hyundai on Route 16 east of Harding Road, Gillespie.
