Combined efforts sends cookies to local soldiers

Carlinville High School Foods I and Advanced Foods classes, under the direction of teacher Joan Hartley, recently baked 80 dozen cookies for Macoupin County soldiers serving overseas.

Each box contained at least four dozen cookies for the soldiers to enjoy or share with their fellow troops. The Carlinville Elks paid for the ingredients, and the Macoupin Military Support Group packed the cookies in boxes with many other requested items. Twice each year, in April and November, the groups come together to send cookies overseas in hopes of putting smiles on the faces of local soldiers serving the country.
