CMS cross country does well at Shelbyville

Two Carlinville Middle School cross country athletes placed in the top nine of Saturday’s Shelbyville Invitational.

The meet featured several teams, and Carlinville’s boys team was led by Briley Roper. He clocked in at 12:11.8 to finish fifth overall at the meet.

Carlinville also got a 17th place finis from Levi Yudinski, who placed in a time of 12:30. Ethan Siglock was 19th at 12:31.4. Cale Williams finished at 44th at 13:20.

Other Carlinville times included: Cameron Strubbe 13:50; David Harris 14:31; Damen Sharp 14:04; Dane Rosentreter 15:31; Matthew Reynolds 15:45; Treiton Park 15:49; Caden Barkley 14:54; Carter Lowrance 17:09; Brock Henson 17:57.

The girls race was led by Jillian Stayton who came in 9th place with a time of 13:34.

Patty Walch finished 27th at 14:09 and Emily May  was 38th at 14:28 with Sophia Ruffato 52nd at 15:20. Also for Carlinville, Annabelle Hulin finished at 15:31; Karrick Rhachyl 16:01;  Hallie Hancock 16:44; Katie Schmidt 17:28; Kara Rosentreter 18:53; Lexi Dawson 18:55; Samantha Eulberg 19:01.

The team returns to action at Athens on Saturday.
