Clay Busters do well at Nationals

The Carlinville Clay Busters traveled to The World Shooting Complex in Sparta July 18-19 to compete in the National Scholastic Clay Target Trap Shooting Program sponsored by the Scholastic Shooting Sports Foundation.

The local Clay Busters took a total of 26 shooters to this National event. The Clay Busters competed against more than 2,000 athletes from all over the United States. Intermediate Entry Level team won second place in the nation at SCTP nationals. Team members include Bradley Rynders, Keaton Whalen, Hayden Vetter, David Hutchison, Brady Cox.

The Rookie team tookn third in the nation at SCTP nationals. Team members include Gavin Rynders, Seth Reno, Brody Harris, Hank Rhodes, and Dane Bouillon.

Bradley Rynders won third place in his division at Nationals.

The Clay Busters are a part of the Scholastic Clay Target Program. The SCTP provides school-age participants with the opportunity to showcase their competitive shooting skills and earn state and national recognition. The program is designed to instill in participants safe firearms handling, commitment, responsibility, leadership and teamwork.  The Clay Busters is a trained supervised organization. Carlinville Clay Busters will be hosting a family fun day at 1 p.m. on Sunday, August 9, 2015. We are located at Starr Gun Club, 26491 Starr Lane in Palmyra. Everyone is welcome to attend this event. We will have a meal, games and demonstrations for interested shooters. Coaches will be available to answer questions about signing up for next season. Signups will be in February 2016.
