Clara A. ParkerClara A. Parker, of Granite City, 92, passed away Wednesday, June 5, 2013, at 11:03 p.m., at Gateway Regional Medical Center in Granite City. She was born May 20, 2013, in Gillespie to Albert and Anna Magella Tretter. She married Keith Dale Parker Sept. 16, 1944, in Quantico, V.A. He preceded her in death April 6, 2007.

Also preceding her in death were her parents; two sisters; and four brothers.

Clara retired in 1988 with over 30 years of service as a bank teller with Granite City Trust and Savings and Central Bank in Granite City. She was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church in Granite City where she served on the finance committee. She was also a member of over 50 years with the Junior Minerva Woman’s Club. Clara was a homemaker and had a love of cooking.

Surviving are one son, Jim (Sharon) Parker, of Granite City; two daughters, Patricia (Thomas) Hewlett, of Edwardsville and Jane (Jake York) Franko-York, of Granite City; five grandchildren, James Christopher (Candi) Parker, Elizabeth (Mike) Lane, Anne Marie (Chris) Casey, Dr. Mark (Megan) Hewlett and Jonathan Parker Franko; nine great-grandchildren, Hunter Parker, Drake Parker, Reid Parker, Michael Lane, Sydney Lane, Zachary Lane, Will Casey, Sam Casey and Harper Ann Hewlett; and many nieces, nephews and other extended family and friends.

Visitation will be Tuesday, June 11, 2013, from 5-8 p.m., at Irwin Chapel in Granite City with a prayer service at 5 p.m.

A funeral mass will be celebrated Wednesday, June 12, 2013, at 10 a.m., at Holy Family Catholic Church in Granite City with Father Jeff Holtman as celebrant.

Burial will be at Calvary Catholic Cemetery in Edwardsville.
