City finance approves motions to send to full

CARLINVILLE (March 15, 2018) – The Carlinville Finance Committee met Monday night with a few topics of discussion.

After a few minutes of discussion, the board approved sending to the full board the adoption of the budget for the upcoming fiscal year.

The board also approved the payment of an additional $101,000 to the police pension fund, and approved a motion to have Fleming/Tawfall do the audit for the 2018 fiscal ear.

In new business, Jodi Reichmann, city treasurer, reported that she is sending out proposals to area banks in hopes of combining different accounts into one institution.

She said that the accounts need to be more up to date, especially within the water department. She suggested looking into a debit/credit machine at city hall, and looking for a better return on checking and savings account.

“We’re looking for ideas, and perhaps a better return,” Reichmann said.

All four local banks were sent letters asking for suggestions.
