Payton Jamieson had a 49 but it wasn’t enough Thursday as the Southwestern golfers defeated Southwestern at Rolling Hills 172-213.

Collin Baumgartner led all competitors with a 41.

Girls tournament

Carlinville’s girls golf team took fourth out of six teams at the 18-hole Viper Tournament Saturday.

It took place at Terry Park in Palmyra with South County as the host for the tournament.

Lincolnwood won the tournament with a 384, followed by Carrollton at 441; Auburn at 449; Carlinville 458; South County 467 and Auburn ‘B’ at 528.

The medalist was Auburn’s Katie Tanner with an 80, followed by Lincolnwood’s Abby Brockmeyer with an 89.

In third overall was Carlinville’s Ali Hurley, shooting a 93. Also for the Cavaliers, Sydney Cania was eighth overall with a 101.

Macy Walker shot a 71; Cara Emery 135 and Ann Traylor a 144.

Alexandra Weber of Palmyra Northwestern shot a 130.

Monday, the CHS teams hosted Litchfield for boys action and Litchfield and Lincolnwood in girls play.

The Litchfield boys won by the score of 168-215.

Jamieson and Lucas Mefford both shot 48s to lead the Cavaliers. Tom Sanson had a 59 and Jay Rosentreter a 60.

Bishop led Litchfield and all scorers with a 37.

In girls play, Lincolnwood got a 44 from Brockmeyer and won with a team score of 191. Litchfield at 231 and Carlinville at 236 were other scores.

Hurley had a 45 to lead Carlinville, while Cania shot a 62; Walker a 64 and Traylor a 65.
