CHS Football: Cavaliers cruise by Shells

Carlinville High School’s varsity football team piled up five rushing touchdowns on its way to a 45-15 road win over Roxana High School Aug. 30.

Running back Kinney Myles, Jr. contributed touchdown runs of 75 and 67 yards while quarterback Joeb Easterday scored touchdowns of 13 and 25 yards in the victory.

Kicker Barry Stewart got CHS on the board with a 28-yard field goal. LaDarius Dunlap scored Carlinville’s first touchdown to make it 10-0. Dalton Jamieson caught a six-yard pass from Easterday for the Cavaliers’ final score.

CHS led 24-7 at halftime and 38-7 after three quarters.

Carlinville’s varsity squad returns to action Friday, Sept. 6, at 7 p.m. vs. Vandalia.
