CCC banquet at Keg Room
CARLINVILLE (Sept. 28, 2017) – The Carlinville Country Club’s ladies’ league ended the season with a Mexican dinner and awards banquet catered by Judy Carriker Sept. 11 at the Keg Room.
The league comprised of 13 two-person teams and two substitutes playing a 14-week schedule of two seven-week halves.
Nikki Harris and Shari Anderson won the first half, while Tammie Hammann and Stacey Rouse won the second half.
The two teams played for the league championship with Hammann and Rouse being victorious.
Karen Bates and Carmen Trump finished second in the first half, while Kali Boente and Marsha Crane were second place in the second half. Boente and Crane would take third place overall by defeating Bates and Trump in the third-place match. All placewinners were awarded gifts.
Other recognitions included Boente with the most birdies; Hammann most improved handicap and most points earned; Crane had most pars, best ringer card score and low average putter.
Ten different women shared the chip-in pot with Mary Guthrie winning $112. A weekly extra game was played this year with winners awarded personalized bag tags.
The ladies held their end-of-year handicap tournament Aug. 28 with 25 participants. Low gross honors went to Crane (45) and second-low gross went to Hammann (46). Second low net winner was Yvonne Fogel (34) and the handicap tournament winner was Kathy Wiltshire (33). Wiltshire was awarded the traveling trophy.
The league is open to all Carlinville Country Club members who are age 18 and older. League play is held from 4:30 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Mondays, followed by food and socializing in the Keg Room.
