Cavies second at St. Joe Ogden
ST. JOSEPH (Sept. 28, 2017) – Carlinville cross country teams took the long haul to St. Joe Ogden Saturday for the St. Joe Ogden Invitational meet.
Monticello teams dominated play winning both boys and girls divisions, with the Carlinville boys finishing second to the Sages.
Monticello scored 112; Carlinville was at 136, followed by Deer-Creek Mackinaw at 140; St. Joe Ogden at 154 and Urbana University 159.
The winner of the boys race was Logan Hall of Arthur/Lovington, finishing in a cool time of 14:24.
The Cavaliers were led by Jason Landon, sixth at 15:43; Charles Helton IV, 16th at 16:12; Bailey Lippold 25th at 16:26; Grayson Armour 41st at 17:01; Jacob Landon 48th at 17:10; Briley Roper 78th at 17:43 and Cale Williams 89th at 17:54.
The CHS girls finished 19th as a team, scoring 453 points. Monticello won the girls title at 58 points; Tolono Unity 67; St. Joe-Ogden 72; Urbana Uni 126 and St. Teresa 162.
Arielle Summitt of Uni-High won the girls race in a time of 17:55.
Carlinville was led by Molly Lewis, 67th at 22:10; Rory Drew 89th at 23:10; Rachel Olroyd 94th at 23:21; Patty Walch 99th at 23:40; Mackenzie Harris 104th at 24:00 and Justice Brock 135th at 30:59.
The teams are in a split-squad Saturday at Peoria Invite and at Southwestern Invite in Brighton.
