Carlinville High School coach cross-country coach Charlie Helton was very pleased with his team’s latest performance Saturday at the ultra tough Tuscola Invitational.

Both Carlinville teams finished third and were led by a pair of top five finishers and seven who finished in the top 30.

“Our athletes ran superb,” Helton said. “Very impressive effort out of all of our runners. Last year at this time we were dreaming about competing with these teams at these meets, and now we are placing third in a field with the two two rated boys teams in the state in Class A.”

The Cavaliers brought home eight trophies and eight medals from the meet.
