Catholic Charities receives Monsanto grant

Macoupin County farmer Dale Hughes has directed $2,500 to Carlinville Catholic Charities as part of the America’s Farmers Grow Communities program sponsored by the Monsanto Fund.

The funds will be used to support a mobile food pantry program. “The resources that Dale Hughes has provided by nominating us for this grant will greatly impact the rural communities we are traveling to every month,” said John Kelly, area director for Carlinville Catholic Charities.

“Farmers play a pivotal role in rural communities, and through their commitment to the Grow Communities program, we are able to provide the monetary support these non-profit organizations need to make an impact,” said Monsanto Fund President Al Mitchell. “We’re proud to play a part in helping these rural communities grow and thrive.”
