Caroline M. “Blondie” Regli
Caroline M. “Blondie” Regli, 90, of Carlinville, passed away Nov. 23, 2012, at Heritage Manor in Carlinville. She was born Oct. 23, 1922, in Carlinville to Joseph and Lena Koster Costello. She married Philip “Junior” Regli March 2, 1946, in Carlinville.
Preceding her in death were a daughter, Linda Regli; three brothers, Joseph Anthony Costello, Joseph Leonard Costello and Paul Costello; three sisters, Katherine Attebury, Margaret Fritche and Irene Joiner.
Caroline was a homemaker who enjoyed cooking and helping her husband with farming. She also worked at Western Cartridge Co. during WWII and the Glove Factory in Carlinville. She was a member of Ss. Mary and Joseph Church and the Knights of Columbus Auxiliary.
Surviving are her husband, Philip; one son, Philip “Butch” (Louisa) Regli of Cambridge, Ontario, Canada; three sisters, Teresa Burns and Marie Young of Carlinville and Florence Burnette of Tucson, Ariz.; and two granchildren, Sarah Regli and Adam Regli.
Visitation was Monday, Nov. 26, 2012, from 4-7 p.m., at Ss. Mary and Joseph Church.
Funeral Mass was Tuesday, Nov. 27, 2012, at 10 a.m., at Ss. Mary and Joseph Church with Father Angel Sierra officiating.
Burial was at New Calvary Cemetery following Mass.
Memorials may be made to Ss. Mary and Joseph Church.
Heinz Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
