Carlinville PEO chapter to host kitchen tour Sept.
CARLINVILLE (Sept. 7, 2017) – For the fourth consecutive year, Carlinville Chapter AB of the International PEO Sisterhood will host its kitchen tour of six homes in the Carlinville. The tour will be held from 1-4 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 16.
Hosts for this year’s homes are Holly and Paul Bloomer, 404 East Main Street; Char and Pete Genta, 630 East Main Street; Kate and Kirk Jackson, 19512 Westwood Lane; Lauren and Jason Jaeger, 17719 Colt Allen Drive; Angela and Ronald Releford, 14955 Lippold Road; and Melissa and Chris Williams, 13962 Oak Drive.
“Each of the kitchens that our hosts have graciously opened to us for the afternoon is either new with a new house, recently remodeled, or unique in some way,” said Tour Coordinator Janet Lippold. “These families were generous enough to volunteer their homes and their time to give us a look at what really is the focal point of a home, new or historic. We know that most women and even many men are curious to know how others design and, most important, use their kitchens. It’s fun to discover how big the kitchen is, how it’s laid out, what kind of countertops and appliances it has, cabinet space, lighting, colors and a host of other features that make it a showpiece. People are also trying to get ideas for their own kitchens.”
Tickets for the six-kitchen tour cost $10 and are available at Camden’s Art and Wine, Main Street Florist, My Sister’s Closet and RP Lumber, all in Carlinville. The ticket is in the form of a brochure and includes a map with directions to each home. Guests may visit anywhere from one kitchen to all six and in any order they choose. Visitors also may purchase the $10 ticket at any of the homes on the tour, but a ticket for just one home is not available.
