Carlinville man killed in wreck with semi
CARLINVILLE (Aug. 9, 2018) – Jarrod N. Adams, 35, of Carlinville was killed early Thursday morning, Aug. 2, in an accident involving his pickup truck and a tractor trailer on Shipman Road at Remington Lane, southwest of Carlinville.
Macoupin County Coroner Brad Targhetta responded to the scene at 5:31 a.m. and pronounced Adams dead at 6 a.m. No autopsy has been scheduled; the preliminary cause of death is massive head, chest and abdominal trauma. Toxicology results are pending.
According to Targhetta, Adams was driving a pickup truck northbound on Shipman Road when it contacted a southbound tractor trailer. The driver of the tractor trailer was not injured.
Illinois State Police District 18 is conducting the investigation. The scene was secured by the Macoupin County Sheriff’s Department, and the Carlinville unit of Gillespie-Benld Area Ambulance Service assisted at the scene.
